A Special Club Member who will be sadly missed
31/03/1966 - 18/12/1999
My first thoughts, of course, go to Hugh's girlfriend Lolia, and of course his parents and family.
A large number of club members attended the cremation service, for which Hugh's parent were very grateful. Hugh would definitely be touched by our support.
It goes without saying, that Hugh would have wanted us to remember the good and happy times we all shared with him. He probably would have found a way to make us all smile if he could have been with us, so I hope my words and thoughts, can do him justice.
During the service a few club members, had to hold back a snigger when Hugh's name was read out in full. He had been asked on occasion what his middle name was, but would always refuse to tell, with one of those typical "Hugh mysterious glint's" in his eyes! Well we know, Mr Hugh 'Kendal' Walters! Hugh's final joke? - well didn't he always save the best till last?!
After the service, we all went to a nearby pub to have a drink to Hugh. I think he would have been happy with our send off - we sat telling stories of Hugh's pranks and expeditions, from crop circles & chair burning, to amazing quad bike stunts. The list of things that he got up to in the time that we've all known him could go on and on!
One of Hugh's greatest talents, without a doubt would be his artwork. He designed and printed the show and cruise fliers for the past three years and also designed an excellent T-shirt, for all the lads to wear to Spanners Stag Night.
He was a really funny person, who lived life to the full (and quite often way beyond!!). I'll personally hold many memories of the daft things he's done, but one in particular to recall would have to be his production of the "You've been Watford Rodded" stickers for the Nationals one year. It's still a bit of a toss up as to whether there were more stickers around the campsite, or on Hugh, after Dave King from the NASC got hold of him and some sheets of stickers!!
Hugh really was a great guy and I know I'm not alone in saying, that I'm really going to miss him. He will always be in my heart and thoughts.
Before I close this, there are just one or two things that had to be said :-
Silly Bugger! (There is only one!)
Dont look at the light! - I cant help it, it's so beautiful!
On the next page are a few memories caught on film. PICTURES
